As I was reading The Crossfit Journal on the subject of CrossFit Kids I ran across a few lines that got me thinking. It wrote,
“CrossFit is great. It provides the play aspect, certainly the exercise aspect, the connections and the small groups.
When it’s possible, CrossFit classes go outside. They get an element of nature in there … . All of these things are
critical to proper brain development.”…
“We’re geared to be working in small tribes—everyone is supportive, moving together, pitching in, helping those lagging behind to catch up. In hunter-gatherer times, you didn’t want to leave anyone behind, because they had to help out. You needed everybody’s participation,”
“Exercise will promote your ability to learn, plain and simple.”
Although this article was about CrossFit Kids It made me think; "As adults are we playful enough?" I think not. "What do we do to promote brain health?" Um... Play Words with Friends? "And how often do we work together with others and help each other out?" Probably not often enough.
CrossFit gives us an outlet to act like kids again to try new things, to play, to laugh, to enourage, to joke, and to promote our health and fitness while doing all these things. CrossFit is more than just a GYM. So kick off your dress shoes for an hour a day and come get a totally new experience at CrossFit Next Wave.
