I'm often asked what makes a person fit. The question is an important one, but it can also be daunting, and may lead to ideological debate. But if you consider the importance of movement in the life of the human being, you can reduce fitness to 2 Key Components - physical kinetics and nutrition.
Component 1 - Gymnastics
This week we are hosting two wonderful seminars focused on these very two components. Coach Brittni will run a seminar on gymnastics and Coach Dave will run the Next Wave Nutrition seminar. For those of you reading gymnastics and thinking parallel bars or high beam, don't fret, the gymnastics we focus on are directly related to functional activities such as pulling yourself up and over an obstacle, rotation, and balance. This is key to human movement and the ability to live an enjoyable life.
A "fit" person should be able to pull themselves or another person up, step out of the way of danger and regain balance, and move onto or pull or push an object with confidence.
Component 2- Nutrition
A "fit" person is also prepared nutritionally. This individual is armed with the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding performance and general nutrition. Did you know Coach Dave Joseforsky studied with Robb Wolf, the author of, The Paleo Solution, and one of the most prolific authors of the modern Paleo and Whole Food movements?
Knowing when to eat and what to eat is integral to being a fit person. Coach Dave will be discussing paleo and zone, and always provides gems on common sense nutrition and planning.
In both seminars you will be able to ask questions and learn from two world-class coaches. The best part is the seminars are FREE to attendees. We could easily charge for these seminars, but we choose to share this valuable information and instruction with our community and those that have simply been overwhelmed by the noise out there surrounding exercise and nutrition.
